Greetings, fellow humans! It is I, the Actual Colin. Painter of Orks, Squig lover (no, not like that) and roller of ones.
I’ve been in hobby for over 20 years now, and started out when I got the second edition 40k boxed set for Christmas way back in 1995. I’ve always had a soft spot for Orks, and at last count had about 20,000 points of them for 40k. Roughly 75% of them are built/painted; mostly Deathskulls, Bad Moons and Evil Sunz, with a few Blood Axes and Goffs thrown in for good measure. I’ve also got about 4k of Dark Eldar (fully painted) and about 4k of Chaos Space Marines/Death Guard (mostly painted).
My aim for Age of Sigmar is an Orruk army, to fill the Snakebite shaped hole in my greenskin collection. It will primarily be made up of Ironjawz and Bonesplitterz, with the possibility of some Beastclaw Raiders further down the line (and whatever else takes my fancy in the Destruction grand alliance).
To get me started, I’ve picked up the Ironjawz Weirdnob Warband and the Shadespire Ironskull’s Boyz boxes, plus Aaron’s kindly donated a box of Ironjawz Brutes too. After painting hundreds of primary coloured Orks over the years, I’ve decided that I should go for secondary colours this time round – and what better colour for greenskins than more green?
Therefore, I’ll be going all in with the green: light green armour, medium green skin and dark green bases (with classy black rims). The rest of my colour scheme will be orange for any cloth/fur, and purple spot colours.
Looking at their rules/points costs, it’ll be nice to play a fairly elite army for a change…
Oh hell yeah my paint-everything-green brother. A triple green ork could be the orkiest ork to ever ork.
