I put a spell on you.

Greetings, fellow humans! This week, I have mostly been painting Endless Spells.

After painting Mork’s Mighty Mushroom a few weeks ago, I painted the rest of my Endless Spells this week. The Malevolent Moon and Scrapskuttle’s Arachnacauldron were fairly straightforward, but the Scuttletide was rather fiddly. It’s a beautifully sculpted model though, and (like Nurglings and Forge World Rippers) is how swarms should be represented. None of this ‘3-4 Scarabs or Razorwings is a swarm’ nonsense! I hope that we get smaller (40mm) spider swarms when the range next gets revisited; as the Spiderfang side of things is sorely lacking compared to the Moonclan side. I’ll most likely get a Spiderfang contingent at some point down the line though, as I love the Arachnarok model.

I’ve not used any Endless Spells in game yet (or any of my Moonclan, for that matter), so it’ll be interesting to see how they perform. They all seem to have their uses, and they’re all relatively cheap to boot. I can see myself using the moon and tide more than the other two, as I like their Predatory, more direct nature. I’ll at least give the mushroom a go though, as it’s my favourite model of the four. Its potential area-denial effects could come in handy in objective-based games, and the threat is reduced somewhat by sending horde units its way – because a handful of Gobbos seems a small price to pay for holding an objective.

It’s quite ironic really, because I hate mushrooms in real life…
