Greetings, fellow humans! This week, I have mostly been finishing off my Moonclan Stabbas. Including the command groups that I painted a few months ago, I’ve now got 20 of them painted, with another 20 to follow.
Of course, I didn’t paint them all this past week. Even I’m not that fast! I’ve been painting them on and off over the past month, in between the Skirmish battle report posts and something else that I’ve been working on (which I’ll hopefully be able to post soon).
Much like the Shootas before them, the Stabbas are great little models and were fun to paint. With there being 5 of each pose for the most part, I painted them in batches in an effort to get through them quickly. The Bad Moon icons on their shields were a bit fiddly at times, but I didn’t have to paint any arrows this time – so it evens out.
While one big unit of 40 would be fairly impressive in-game, I’ll most likely keep them as two smaller units of 20. They’ll be much less unwieldy, and better for objective based games. Plus, I need a few different places for my Fanatics to hide out too!
When the other 20 Stabbas are finished, my Gloomspite Gitz army will be rapidly approaching the 3,000 point mark! I think it’ll be a while before I get the chance to use them all together, but it certainly gives me a good selection of units to choose my armies from. I could go mostly Squigs, mostly Grotz, or anywhere in between…
